How To Crochet Guide: How To Create Granny Square Shorts

Hello there and Happy Tuesday to you!
This  is a how to guide on how to construct a pair of crochet shorts formed from granny squares!
 This guide is a fave casual piece that I love creating for fun and I truly wanted to share how I create these drawstring crochet shorts!

STEP ONE: ROUND ONE [COLOR #1 YARN]
CH 5 and connect with a SL ST.
CH 3 to count as the first DC then work 15 DC into the ring. Connect with a SL ST, to the very top of the beginning CH 3. (16 double crochet stitches in total) Then you wll fasten off.

STEP TWO: ROUND TWO [COLOR #2 YARN] 
CONNECT the second color with a SL ST to the start of the DC STS and then you will CH 3 [counts as the DC] CH 1, into the corner space, DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, DC three and DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, , DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, and DC three times, CH 3, DC two times all into the corner, connecting the last ST to the very first ST. Fasten off your work..

STEP THREE: ROUND THREE [COLOR #3 YARN]
CONNECT the third color with a SL ST to the start of the DC STS and then you will CH 3 [counts as the DC] and DC two times into the very next space, CH 1, into the corner space, DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, CH 1, and DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, CH 1, DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, CH 1, and DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner space,, connecting the last ST to the very first ST. Fasten off your work..

STEP FOUR: ROUND FOUR [MAIN YARN]
CONNECT the fourth color with a SL ST to the top open space and then you will CH 3 [counts as the DC] and DC two times into the very same space, CH 1, into the corner space, DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, CH 1, into the next open space, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, and DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, CH 1, DC three times into the next same single space, DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, CH 1 and then  CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, CH 1 and DC three times, CH 3, DC three times all into the corner space, CH 1, DC three times into the same single space, connecting the last ST to the very first ST.
