Hello there! I hope you are having a lovely day! Today I am sharing a free crochet pattern for this Summer drawstring bag comprised of a handful of scrap yarn. By creating various patterns within the project you will be able to create the perfect little bag!

Ingredients:
Crochet Hook>> H/8-5.00MM
Craft Scissors
Yarn Sewing Needle
Yarn used>>( 7) colors -Half a Skein for All/ Red Heart Super Saver "Scrap Yarn" /Medium 4
Thread and Sewing Needle
Pom Pom maker

Stitch guide:
HDC= half double crochet
SC= single crochet
SS= slip stitch
ST(S)= stitch(es)
CH= chain
R[number]= Row
RND= Round

You will be working in rounds to create the bottom of the bag.
CH 3
Connect the last ST to the first ST by SS
SC two times into the circle [for a total of 6 STS]
Color 1: RND 1: SC into the first ST only once, SC into the following ST two times.. (Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round and CH 1.) [for a total of 15 STS]
Color 1:RND 2: SC into the first ST only once, SC into the following ST two times.. (Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round and CH 1.)
Color 1:RND 3: SC into the first TWO STS only once, SC into the following ST two times.. (Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round and CH 1.)
Color 1:RND 4: SC into the first THREE STS only once, SC into the following ST two times.. (Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round and CH 1.)
Color 1:RND 5: SC into the first FOUR STS only once, HDC into the following ST two times.. (Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round and CH 1.)
Color 1:RND 6: SC into the first FIVE STS only once, HDC into the following ST two times.. (Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round and CH 1.) 45 sts total.
Color 1:RND 7: SC into All of the STS for the entire Round.. (Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round and CH 1.)
Color 1:RND 8: SC into ALL of the STS for the Entire Round. (Repeat this method for All of the Rounds, connect at the end of each Round and CH 1.)
Color 2:RND 9: SC into ALL of the STS for the Entire Round. (Repeat this method for All of the Rounds, connect at the end of each Round and CH 1.)

Color 2:RND 28: SC into ALL of the STS for the Entire Round. (Repeat this method for All of the Rounds, connect at the end of each Round and CH 1.)

Color 2: RND 29: HDC into the first two STS, *CH 1, Skip to then HDC into the following ST)...(*Repeat this method for All of the Rounds, connect at the end of each Round and CH 1.)
Color 2:RND 30: SC into ALL of the STS for the Entire Round.(*Repeat this method for the entire Round, connect at the end of the Round, SS to complete Round.)

Creating the drawstring

CH 85
You will insert the string throughout the open spaces created from Round 29.

Creating the straps
Insert your until the side of the bag about ( 7.5 inches apart) you will connect to the adjacent siding by using your yarn sewing needle at the end of the row.
HDC into the 3 STS on the side, turn work to start Row 1.
Row 1- Row 58: HDC into all of the STS for All of the rows. At end of row, SS and connect to the other side.

Adding Pom Poms
I used my Pom Pom maker to create two Pom Poms on both sides. (Round 18)
As well as two for the drawstring detailing! In which I used the yarn sewing needle to secure in place.
