I made it to fit me a little over-sized, so the pattern is more of a small/medium fit. For this particular pattern I worked in rounds as a trial. You can cut the pattern in halves to sew them together by creating half of the measurements for the front of the top as well as the back of the top
Ingredients:
Caron Simply Soft Yarn, In Navy Blue/Red/White
Scissors
Yarn Sewing Needle
Crochet Hook H/8-5.00MM
Crochet Abbreviations:
CH= Chain
HDC= Half Double Crochet
ST(s) = Stitch(es)
With the start of the top, utilizing the navy blue yarn:
Make a CH of 90
For the 1st Row: HDC the entire Row coming to the end and turn
Row 2-9: You will repeat HDC for all the entire Rows
Once complete the blue, knot and sew in the end.
Using the white yarn:
Insert the white yarn into the end of the Row.
CH 3
Skip the first ST
HDC into the following ST after the skipped one
Repeat this method until the end of the Row.
Knot, cut and sew in the edges.
You will know alternate with the red yarn:
CH 3
Skip the first ST
HDC into the following ST after the skipped one
Repeat this method until the end of the Row.
Knot, cut and sew in the edges.
Between the white and red yarn, you will alternate the same method for about 9 times, ending with a white row.
For the straps: (you will repeat this method twice)
Note: They will have 17 STS apart from each other (if you follow this measurement)
Insert Hook unto the main top, and HDC into 6 STS
For Row 1-28: You will HDC the entire strap.
Knot, cut and sew in the edges.
Once completed, for the edging, SC around the strap.
Knot, cut and sew in the edges.
Using your yarn sewing needle, with a bit of yarn (half an inch or less), sew the strap to the other side of the top (the back!)
Knot, cut and sew in the edges.
Cut about 1 and a half of each color about four times.
I had four white strands
4 red strands
4 blue strands
Fold the strands in half, looping through the open STS
Skip 3, going into the fourth ST
Knot the strands like tassels, alternating colors around the bottom of the top.
Please let me know if anything is confusing, I'll try my best to compile the instructions accurately!
Hope you have a lovely fourth!
