DIY: How To Crochet A Scalloped Bow Headband // Free Crochet Pattern.

 Hello there! Having a touch of fantasy  as well as whimsy hit me and I wanted to create a super whimsical crochet accessory that you can easily create under 30 minutes!

Ingredients:    

Crochet Hook>> H/8 5.00MM  Craft Scissors   Yarn Sewing Needle
  Yarn used>>Half a Skein [Lion Brand Yarn] Medium 4

  Stitch guide:    HDC= half double crochet// SC=single crochet// DC=double crochet// SS= slip stitch //ST(S)= stitch(es)// CH= chain RND[number]= Round

CH 15

R1-R8: HDC into all of the STS for All of the Rows, turn work after completed row. After final row, SS to complete work.

Begin the scalloped trim around the completed piece.

R1: SC into the first ST, [two times] SS into the following ST, CH 1, and *into the following SC [two times into the next ST, SS into the following ST, CH 1...[*Repeat method until the very beginning of the Row, SS to complete work.]

 Next, scrunch the middle section of the bow, to wrap around yarn strands, tie the strands around the middle and tie, knot the strand.

Next, you will want to measure the circumference of your head and chain accordingly.

CH 65

Connect the first ST to the very last ST.

R1: HDC into all of the STS for the entire Row,  after final row, SS to complete work.

To connect and secure the bow to the headband, you will sew, [using a strand of yarn] the back of the bow to the headband.

DIY: How To Crochet A Woven Headband// Free Pattern!

 Hello there and Happy Tuesday! Using the yarn from my scrap bin, I decided to whip up this crochet woven headband, perfect for the Spring times!

Ingredients:    
Crochet Hook>> H/8-5.00MM
Scissors
Scrap Yarn used>>Less than 1 Skein of Teal (Lion Brand Yarn)

Stitch guide
SC= single crochet     
SS= slip stitch
ST(S)= stitch(es)
CH= chain

CH 8
R1-R11: SC in all of the STS, for all of the Rows, turn work after every Row. SS at the end of R11.
After the crochet piece is complete.
SC around the entire crocheted piece.
Insert hook unto the side of the piece, 8 STS across.
Insert hook and CH 60 (or to desired length)
You will repeat this method, for All 8 STS, you will have a total of 8, 60 CH sections.

Tape the piece down to start the woven method.
You will be weaving with 2, 60 CH, at a time.

For Reference:
Outer set from the right [a1]
2nd set from the right [a2]
3rd set from the right [a3]
4th set from the right [a4]

Step 1
With the outer right 2 strands [a1], moving the 2 strands [a1] to the left and weave it underneath over [a2], then go underneath [a3] as well as over set [a4]

Step 2
You will take [a3] to weave it over [a2] as well as set [a1]
Next, you will take set [a2] and weave it under [a3] as well as [a4]

Repeat Step 2 until the very end of the crocheted piece. At the end, knot the ending strands and cut.

Sew the woven piece to the beginning crocheted piece (left photo).
Next, you will fold the crocheted piece over and sew the crocheted piece together.

DIY: Crochet This Vintage Inspired Headband! Free Pattern.

Hello there! This Free Crochet Pattern was entirely inspired by one of my favorite brooches. I collect about a handful of them and thought it would be an interesting concept to base a design utilizing one of them! This crochet headband is perfect for not only keeping your ears warm, but all in the zone for creating a fashion statement!

Ingredients: Crochet Hook>> I/9-5.50MM
Scissors
Yarn used>>1 Skein of Yarn Bee Effervesce Willowy
Yarn sewing needle
Brooch of your choice

Stitch guide
SC= single crochet
HDC= half double crochet
DC= double crochet
SS= slip stitch
ST(S)= Stitch(es)
CH= chain

 CH 11,
*Row 1: Turn and HDC the entire Row,
Turn work for Row 2: DC the entire Row,
Turn work for Row 3: You will once again HDC the entire Row,
*You will be alternating between HDC and DC until you reach Row 31.
Once completing the Rows.

Cut the yarn off to weave in the end.
You will begin a Finishing technique of inserting your hook into borders of the finished crochet piece.
Begin SC around the entire piece for your finished look.
Once complete.
Cut the yarn off to weave in the end.

With your yarn sewing needle and a half an inch of cut yarn.
Thread your yarn to connect the end of the crocheted piece, by sewing them together. Make sure it is very secure and a bit scrunch together. (This is where your brooch will go!)
Cut the yarn off to weave in the end.
Once complete.

With your chosen brooch, clip it or pin it where the crochet piece was sewn together.
Viola! You are now ready to wear this vintage inspired crochet headband handmade by you!

DIY: The Crochet Drawstring Headband// Free Pattern!

Hello there! Happy Tuesday to you! Here is a free pattern for this crochet drawstring headband that I came up with on a complete whim. In an attempt to create something a bit different than this final product which I'll eventually get to, I thought I'd share this accidental creation!

Ingredients//
Scissors
Crochet Hook H8-5.00MM
Yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver)

Crochet Terms//

SC= Single Crochet

DC= Double Crochet

HDC= Half Double Crochet

SS= Slip Stitch

ST(S)= Stitch(es)

CH= Chain

Let's Start!
CH 51
Connect the first ST to the very last ST.
CH 1
Start your first Row.
Row 1// SC the entire Row. At the very end of the Row, connect the last ST to the very first ST and CH 2.
Row 3-5// Skip two STS. *DC into the third ST from the hook two times, CH 1 and DC into the same ST two times.
Skip over 2 STS and repeat from* until the very end of the row, connect the last ST to the very first ST and CH 2.
Row 6// HDC the entire  Row. At the very end of the Row, connect the last ST to the very first ST and CH 1.
Row 7// SC the entire  Row. At the very end of the Row, connect the last ST to the very first ST connect, cut to tie off and sew in the remaining end of yarn.

For the drawstring//
CH 60.
Tie off and loop through the open spaces from Row 4.

DIY: The Garden Crochet Twine Headband.

This headband was inspired by flower crowns and I wanted to emulate the same earthy feel  by utilizing twine in this headband. The very best part of this crochet twine strand, is that you can wear it in numerous fashions. My personal favorite is the side twist braid with the strand intertwined throughout your hair. Creates a bit of whimsy to everyday life!

 The Ingredients:
>> Scissors
>> Crochet hook (G/6-4.25MM)
>> 1 Skein of Yarn (White, Caron Simply Soft/Twine)

Crochet Abbreviations: 
HDC= half double crochet 
SS= slip stitch
CH= chain  
ST(S) = stitch(es)  

From Left to Right:
CH 101 (using the twine)
 In the 51st CH 

Insert the white yarn by SS
CH 2, HDC into the same ST
SS into the same stitch
CH 2, HDC into the same ST
SS into the same stitch
CH 2, HDC into the same ST
SS into the same stitch
CH 2, HDC into the same ST
SS and cut off.

You will create a total of 12 of these little bundles. 
By skipping two STS on both sides of the originally placed bundle.

You will also create two bundles at the beginning and end of the chain.

DIY: The Independence Crochet Headband.

The 4th of July is swiftly approaching this week and I thought I'd make this headband donning the colors of this country! The band is long enough to tie in a knot, bow or simply let it loose! You can wear it multiple ways of your choice which is always an awesome thing!

The Ingredients:
>> Scissors
>> Crochet Hook (G/6-4.25MM)
>> Sugar and Cream (red/white/blue mix)

Crochet Abbreviations:  
SC= single crochet
HDC= half double crochet  
DC= double crochet
SS= slip stitch
CH= chain   
TO= turn over
ST(S) = stitch(es) 

Start a CH of 3
Row 1: HDC the entire Row and TO
Continue HDC for Row 2 until Row 28

For Row 29: HDC two times into the first ST
HDC once in the middle (second) ST
For the 3rd ST HDC two times into it

For Row 30 to Row 40: DC into each Row
Once you hit Row 41: Reduce the STS back down to 3 STS
Row 41-69: HDC each Row 
SS, cut the remaining string and sew in the edges!
