Hello there! When I am just browsing about, being inspired and all by lovely crochet items, I tend to look upon the "other side", (so to speak/write) to the world of knitting for a bit of inspiration. Now I have never attempted knitting before, though I would love to try one day, but I love glancing at the items and have them influence novel ideas for crochet projects. There are tons of techniques crochet wise, to emulate the look of knit and I find that to be quite fascinating and something I would love to strive towards creating, especially for the Fall/Winter seasons. I picked up The Best Of Interweave Crochet and it is chocked full of techniques to assist in setting your crochet projects to appear like knitted wear which is pretty educational! Here are a few knitted items that have caught my hook, which I relate some crochet stitches that might be similar to the technique!

The color of this cardigan is very pleasing to the eye, I could see it set together with grey tones to phase it into the Fall! I can entirely see this cardigan being an inspiration on the crochet side, there are a few techniques like an open stitch like Filet Crochet Lacet or a Lacy Interrupted V Stitch that would suit it perfectly. >>found here.

I actually just purchased this shade of lavender, planning in a few projects time to start a crochet sweater and this item is definitely pushing me to want to create it now! Hello there! So what's on my hook? Well, currently I have been bitten by the Fall bug and I am all over the idea of crocheting projects geared toward my favorite season! The project that I am crocheting at the moment is a pretty decently big project that has no pattern and was inspired by a past post of Inspiration. Seeing as there is no pattern and I am entirely attempting to figure out how it was made, has left me trying this project for the 3rd time! Spending a handful of days on the first attempt until I finally opened my eyes and realized it was all wrong! It was a bit of a letdown, but I knew I had to pick up another ball of yarn of the same color and try again. So I did, in between working and crocheting the second attempt, I realized again this method was not going to work. Le sigh. Luckily, I wasn't in too deep with the second one, that I could start my 3rd! I do, truly feel confident this time around and well, they do say the third times the charm. Hopefully, this will be it!
I must say, that even through this fumble of repeated mistakes, crocheting teaches me patience and I am quite thankful for that. It teaches me that even if I get that one row wrong, I can pull it out and try again until it's right and that's what I have been doing with this project. :) Well, now I'm off to continue with this project and with hope, the next time you see it, it will be alive, complete and successful!
Hello there! I've been aching to try out the chevron technique for quite awhile, but have yet to set myself down to learn how to do as so. Now I have finally applied it to a project and I must say, I am very elated on how it turned out! Using cream and grey yarn acrylic yarn to create this item and a H/8-5.00 MM, this was a fun experiment bag made up of my own pattern. Which I might make a DIY tutorial for this bag, if anyone is truly interested! Also, for the bag handle, I crocheted and braided it for a unique touch.
Hello there! So I've made up a super easy tutorial for this crochet clutch. For the yarn, I chose a neutral theme for the clutch, greys and tans for right now, in hopes to create more in different colors. This was entirely an experimental pattern, made up on the spot and I am quite elated with how it turned out and do look forward to revisiting it once more!
The Ingredients: (I used.)
3 Skeins of Yarn (Cream/Grey/Khaki)
Crochet Sewing Needle
Fabric
Hook #1: H/8-5.00 MM
Hook #2: B/1-2.25MM
Sewing Needle + Thread
(Optional: Sewing machine)
Abbreviations:
SC= Single Crochet
ST= Stitch
HDC= Half Double Crochet
SS= Slip Stitch
Chain 39 Stitches for 14 Rows with your main color. Using the H/8-5.00 MM.
Row 2-14: Alternate between a HDC and a SC throughout the Rows.
You will be making two parts/sections. One for the front and one section for the back of the clutch.
To finish the sides, SC around the sections for a finished look.
Next, I sewed the yarn to connect both of the sections, the longer/ bottom end. Using the crochet hook and cut a piece of yarn to thread.
Time for the fabric inset! I wanted to use a fun and vibrant pattern of fabric because the clutch has such a earthy tone to it. Here is a great tutorial that will help you in the process. (Note: I hand sew by the way and wanted to put the fabric in before I finished the clutch.)
I sewed both of the sides of the clutch on to close it up. Using the crochet hook and yarn thread once again.
Next, I started to SC at the top, back of the clutch to start the flap of the bag. Here is a way to connect colors when crocheting.
SC the Ist Row of the main color and for the,
2nd Row: SC in the first stitch, skip one ST, 2HDC in the next ST, skip one ST and 2HDC in the ST after the skipped ST.
(Note: This technique is utilized throughout the rest of crocheting the flap of the clutch.)
3rd and 4th Row: For the 3rd Row of the flap, I used my secondary color and utilized the technique noted from the previous Row.
5th and 6th Row: Crochet with the third color along with the same technique. (SC in the first stitch, skipped one ST, 2HDC in the next ST, skip one ST and 2HDC in the ST after the skipped ST.)
7th and 8th Row: Repeat the technique with the main color.
9th Row: Secondary color with the same technique.
10th Row: Third color with the same technique.
11th Row: Secondary color with the same technique.
12th and 13th Row: Use main color with the same technique. SS and you are done.
To finish: SC around the flap of the clutch for a finished look using the main hook. SS and done.
Also, using the hook B/1-2.25MM for the remainder yarn to weave it in the stitches. (Note: you can either use the small hook or a crochet sewing needle.)

With the Fall season, still on the brain, I can't help the desire of creating a list of projects I simply cannot wait to make. For the Fall, I truly want to aim for the whimsy, vintage inspired projects that I can mix and match with other outfits. These items are not so heavily Fall/Winter items, these are too slowly guide myself into the layering pieces. Though I must state, living in Texas, (heatwaves and all) kind of puts a hold on that idea, but I'm an East Coast girl at heart, I'll make it work!

Hello there! I have been creating handfuls of crochet bow belts for not only for my shoppe, but for myself! I adore bows and I adore crocheting, so why not mix the two loves together? So I finally did. There is a small button in the back of the belt to latch and tighten the belt around your waist. I would like to push the idea a bit further, with little charms, pearls, studs and vintage buttons to personalize the belt. Of course, the simplistic version will always hold a place in my heart! Soon, (hopefully) I will be setting them upon my shoppe for purchase!
Hello there! With having to work, being everyday normal life busy bee, at times, well many times, I take my wip crochet projects with me wherever I go. Usually work on it during a break in the day or honestly, if I am stuck in traffic for a good amount of time which is pretty normal here in Houston. Normally, I take reusable shopping bags and stuff them with my current projects, but I was truly wanting a bag that reflected a craft that I adore. So I decided to whip up this bag to carry my smaller wip projects in! It was super easy to make and I love the color combo choice! Definitely want to make more in different colors, for the seasons (and maybe to match everyday outfits..maybe!) One thing, I wanted to make along with this bag, was to crochet a hook case for it and sew it into the side of the bag! Though it will be something I will crochet up quite soon!
