DIY // Crochet Elastic Headband // Free Crochet Pattern.

Hello there! I hope you are doing quite well out there! Here is a free crochet pattern for this Spring inspired headband. I absolutely love the color of this yarn, "Hot Green" entirely is setting me in the spirit of all things bright and Spring like!

Ingredients:    

Crochet Hook>> H/8 5.00MM // Craft Scissors //  Yarn Sewing Needle // Elastic Band [2]
  Yarn used>>1 Skein// Bernat Yarn] Medium 4 // 80 yards

  Stitch guide:    HDC= half double crochet// SC=single crochet// DC=double crochet// SS= slip stitch //ST(S)= stitch(es)// CH= chain R[number]= Row

CH 46
R1: HDC into the first ST, CH 1, Skip 1 ST, HDC into the following 18 more STS, CH 5 STS, Skip 5 STS, HDC the following 18 STS, CH 1, Skip 1 ST and HDC the last remaining ST, CH 2 and turn work.

R2: HDC into the first ST, CH 1, Skip 1 ST [Insert elastic band] HDC into the following 18 more STS, CH 5 STS, Skip 5 STS, HDC the following 18 STS, CH 1, Skip 1 ST [insert the other end of the elastic band] and HDC the last remaining ST, CH 2 and turn work. 
R3: HDC into the first ST, CH 1, Skip 1 ST, HDC into the following 18 more STS, CH 5 STS, Skip 5 STS, HDC the following 18 STS, CH 1, Skip 1 ST and HDC the last remaining ST, SS to complete work.

[Optional Detailing]
Using a strand of yarn, Scrunch and tie the middle of the headband where the 5 skipped STS were together.
I added an earring stud with the plastic backing into the middle section of the band for a little detail.

DIY: The Crochet Way Lacy Headband.

Hello there & Happy Tuesday to you! I've made this crochet lacy headband for the summer time to share with whoever would like to make one of their own! You can wear it multiple ways and also find a creative method to create artistic shots too!

  Ingredients: 
>> Scissors
>> Yarn Thread
>> Crochet Hook [C/2-2.75MM]

Crochet Abbreviations:  
SC= single crochet
HDC= half double crochet
DC= double crochet
SS= slip stitch
CH= chain   
TO= turn over
ST(S) = stitch(es) 

Start a CH of 12.
1st Row: HDC the entire Row

2nd Row: CH 3, Skip 1 Space and DC into the following ST.
3rd Row: CH 3, Skip 1 Space and DC two times into the following Space, CH 1 Skip a Space and DC into the next ST, CH1 and DC 2 times into the following repeat method until end of Row.
You will repeat from the 1st Row, 2nd Row and 3rd Row until you reach the 60th Row. Alternating between each technique.

For the lacy trim, HDC three times in the loops, SS into a following ST and HDC 3 times in the next ST. (see photo above.)

You can even utilize the headband as an artistic filter for portraits!

DIY: How To Make A Pom Pom Headband.

Hello there, here is a tutorial I have created to make the super duper easy pom pom headband. Seeing as Spring is finally here, I wanted to embrace the feel of it with pretty pastel yarn that I found about a year ago. I believe the blend is from I Love This Yarn!

The Ingredients
>> scissors  
>> yarn of your choice  
>> pom pom maker (I found mine at Michaels, they have them at Walmart as well!) (Similar kind here)
>> fabric headband
>> hot glue gun (high temp) + glue sticks

First, set creating your pom poms!

I snip around the pom pom, to make sure it is nice and even.

With the hot glue gun and with a bit of yarn, glue the yarn to the inside of the headband. Wrap the yarn around to cover the headband.

Next, you will glue the pom to the top of the headband.

Hold the pom firmly so that it can settle and dry firmly!

I made about 7 of these little dudes!

DIY: The Crochet Pom Pom Boot Cuffs.

Hello there! It's Tutorial Tuesday and this week, I wanted to share this crochet pom pom boot cuffs. I have recently and finally purchased a proper pom pom maker and wanted to put it to good use. 

Being such a huge fan of wearing socks as well as cuffs with my boots, I wanted to intertwine the two by adding a cute little touch of pom poms!

  The Ingredients: >> Scissors
>> G/6 -4.25 MM Crochet Hook  
>> Yarn of your choosing

>> Yarn Sewing Needle

>> Pom Pom Maker of your choice (I used a medium size)

Crochet Techniques with abbreviations:
>>SC= Single Crochet
>>HDC=Half Double Crochet
>>SS=Slip Stitch
>>CH=Chain

CH 32

Connect the last ST to the first ST

To create a loop

Row 2:

CH1
HDC the entire Row connecting the last St to the beginning

Row 3:

SC the entire Row connecting the last St to the beginning

Skip next ST

HDC into the following ST (after the missed ST

Row 5: (2nd Photo)

CH 1

Insert hook into the open space bringing the yarn through

CH 1 and continue this method until Row 9

Row 10:

HDC the entire Row connect last ST to the first ST

Row 11:

SC the entire Row connect last ST to the first ST

For the pom pom:

CH 40

Utilizing your pom pom maker, you will make a total of 4 pom poms

With the end of the CH

Use the yarn needle and sew through the pom pom and knot cutting the excess yarn to blend in!
