DIY: Striped Crochet Cowl Made From Yarn Scraps!

After rearranging and organizing my ever so growing yarn stash, collecting all the scraps into a bin. The idea popped in my head to create a tutorial for making something out of nothing. Which would also be an awesome series to make as well! I've seen numerous creations from others who have done the same thing and I wanted to try it out for myself! So the first idea that popped in my head was a multicolored cowl!

The Ingredients:
>> Scissors
>> J10/6.00 MM Crochet Hook
>> Scrap/Leftover Yarn


Crochet Techniques with abbreviations:
>>SC= Single Crochet
>>HDC=Half Double Crochet
>>SS=Slip Stitch
>>CH=Chain
>>DC=Double Crochet

CH 84
Connect the beginning ST to the very last ST
Row 1:
DC the entire Row 1
Row 2: [alternate color]
DC the entire Row 2
Row 3: [alternate color with enough yarn for 2 Rows]
DC the first ST 
CH 1
Skip the next ST
DC into following ST repeat this method until the end of Row 3
Row 4: [same color as Row 3]
CH 1
Wrap the yarn around the hook
Insert hook into the space created by the skipped ST
Loop over and pull yarn through hook
CH1 
To continue this method through Row 4
For the rest of the cowl, you will repeat the steps alternating colors as you wish!
The cowl is completed at Row 20, SS the final ST. Cutting and hooking the thread into ST.
