DIY: How To Crochet A Chain Purse.

Hello there! Happy Tuesday to you! This crochet purse was entirely inspired by the chilly season to come. There is something quite lovely about a yarn entwined purse, especially crocheted with thick wool yarn. Oh, it's quite a dream! I know this is just the start of the many crochet purse designs that are floating about my mind that I simply cannot wait to share!
Ingredients:
Scissors
36IN Links silver plated 10x12mm
Sewing yarn needle
Crochet hook H/8-5.00MM
Yarn of your choice (I chose Loops & Thread, Country Loom/Color Wizard)

2 Key Rings (Not shown)
7in 18 cm polyester zipper (Not Shown)
Yarn and sewing needle (Not Shown)

Abbreviations:
CH= chain
HDC= half double crochet
SS= slip stitch
ST(S)= stitch(es)
Part 1
CH 19
Turn and into the first ST and HDC the entire Row 1,
Turn and continue HDC the next Row (Row 2) until you reach Row 11.
Once completed.
Knot, and cut off remaining yarn to sew into the STS.

You will repeat Part 1,
Once more so that you will have two halves.

(Note: I did not apply a lining, though the next one I create, I will most likely utilize that process.)
 If you choose to here are a few links that can assist you!

Once both of the halves have been completed.
Using the zipper, you will align the zipper and begin sewing both pieces to the zipper.
Here is a tutorial that could help you in this process!

Once completing the zipper,
You will sew the sides of the purse as well as the very bottom (where the zipper is not present), using the yarn sewing needle and a bit of yarn. Make sure it is quite secure.

Next, I made yarn tassles for the sides of the bags, just for a little something something.
I cut, half an inch of yarn, about 8 times for both sides.
Folded them over, cut off another half an inch of yarn to wrap around the bent set and tied them. Once creating the tassles, I sewed them onto the sides of the purse, using the yarn sewing needle and a bit of yarn.
Here is a link for a tutorial on how to make yarn tassles!

For the straps, I took a little bit over 36 inches of yarn,cut it, threaded the yarn into the yarn sewing needle and thread it through the chain. I knotted the yarn at the very end of the chain for security.
Next, I took the end of the chains and attached them both to two separate rings.

On the side of the purse, to attach the strap and the rings.
CH 8, knot leave a few centimeters out and cut off. You will attach the single chain to both sides of the purse, first you want to ensure the chain and ring is in between the single chain (like the photo above on the right.)
You will attach it by sewing it from the outside, securing the yarn in the inside of the purse.
Have fun crafting!

What I Wore: Almost There.

 Hello there! This outfit is from last last week, when Cece and had a day of fun and hanging out.  I've been a bit behind with the outfit posts! Oh better late than never! I hope your weekend was quite lovely, I had quite  a busy week,  it was my niece's first birthday and we spent all day decorating and cooking. I also, ended up  fighting a tiny little cold cold, which put the projects I had going on a bit behind, but it's all right. That's life for ya!

The cape I'm wearing here, the cape, goodness, I am entirely such a smitten kitten all over it. It was more than what I usually pay for anything. (Which isn't saying much because I like everything to be under 10 bucks. :p ) Though for the price, it was worth every penny and if I could find it in another color, I would get them all.

What I Wore: Let's Get This Going!

Hello! I've had this skirt for many many years, found it in a thrift shop for about 3 bucks and I truly believe I cannot see myself ever letting it go. Such a catch! I paired it with a blouse that I purchased at Rue21 for only $8, which I'm quite thankful for finding such a deal, especially with the awesome faux leather details surrounding the collar and the cut outs on the shoulder. The shoes, I found at Plato's Closet, via Forever 21, they were also 8 bucks. The shoes have this rad animal print suede thing going on and I love it. I'm pretty sure, if I added up this entire outfit, it would come out to be under $30! Can't help it, I'm all about the deals! ;)
Anywho, this weekend is a busy shooting/work week and I am hoping it goes along quite swimmingly and I can get a bit of rest in, which is very nice to have, especially over the weekend and all.Well, I do truly hope you have a sweet weekend! :)

HandMade. The Crochet Cropped Sweater.

Hi there! I have finished my cropped sweater from last week (What's on my my hook?) Wanting to recreate the cropped sweaters that have been popping up at numerous stores this season. I wrote and designed up this idea to create this sweater. It was a quite familiar experience, starting over, rewriting the pattern until I got it right. Made the time creating it quite a learning process. I chose this hot pink color, mainly because of this Lauren Conrad floral dress. I purchased it at Kohl's and wanted to bring it into the Fall season, perhaps with black tights and boots. So I thought, crocheting up a sweater made entirely for the dress, would be a fun way to go!

The crochet technique I used, for the sweater was a half double crochet, single crochet, pretty basic. I utilized a lacy type of stitch, primarily because I liked the idea of the sweater being a bit breezy. Living in Texas calls for light sweaters, so maintaining an openwork stitch is the perfect technique, for me personally to go for.

The Yarn I used: Hot Pink/Red Heart
The Hook I used: J/10-6.00MM
The Pattern I used: Experimental: My Own!

HandMade: The Artic Crocheted Sweater Cardigan.

Hello there! Here is my crocheted sweater cardigan from last week's (What's on my hook?) and I have to state I am quite elated on how it came out! How I sketched the design up in my head, surpassed how it actually came to be. Truly, I cannot wait to create more in different designs as well as patterns. For creating this cardigan, I used about 4 colors of yarn including almost all of the Caron One Pound bundle! Last minute to the project, I added pockets because I felt something was missing and the sweater kind of called for it. I love when that happens, when it's experimental and at the moment little ideas can help boost a simple idea! This project was a one of a kind challenge, but I am more than happy with the results!

The crochet technique I used, for the sweater was a half double crochet, single crochet, treble (triple crochet). For the belt, it was entirely all single crocheted. There was a lot, A lot of sewing involved including for a bit of the design, but it was majorly and interestingly fun!

The Hook I used: H/8-5.00MM

What We Wore: Fun At The Carnival.

Hello, hope you had a lovely weekend. This past Sunday, Cece and I, went to a few stores looking for some pretty good deals and all and happened to come across a carnival that was there for the weekend! It was such a sweet little surprise! Also, thankfully, we stopped into Michaels', of course per my request and I found some major deals on some of my favorite bits of yarn. Let's just say I went a bit crazy and walked out there with little basket full of yarn. Though more projects to come from those purchases quite soon! :) Oh and Cece made my new banner, thank ya doll!
