DIY: Crochet Fringe Handkerchief Scarf.

I have been wanting to create this scarf for quite awhile, I also want to create a larger scale version of it as well.  Though here is a free pattern to make one for yourself! I am a lover of fringe though if you are not, you can entirely eliminate the fringe part and modify if you desire!

The Ingredients:

>> Scissors

>> H/8-5.00 MM Crochet Hook

>> The yarn I used// Caron Simply Soft Yarn (Passion) 

Crochet Techniques with abbreviations:
>>SC= Single Crochet
>>HDC=Half Double Crochet
>>SS=Slip Stitch
>>CH=Chain
>>DC=Double Crochet

CH 70
Turn and HCD entire ROW 1
After you hit the last ST
Turn for the Next Row (Row 2)
You will skip 2 STS

For Row 3
Start the Solomon's Love Knot technique
[start the technique (the solomon's love knot) SC skip a Stitch and use the technique into the following]
 
Once you hit the last 2 STS of the Row
Turn and Decrease 2 STS once again
To start the Solomon's Love Knot technique..

You will repeat this method,
By decreasing 2 STS until you reach Row 18
Until it ends in a point. Knot and cut.

Cut about an inch of yarn, four strips for each of the side rows.
There will be about 33 of the four strips.

You will wrap the yarn in the outside of the STS of the scarf like so, knotting it.

DIY: Crochet Fringe Cellphone Holder.

Here is a free pattern on how I created this crochet fringe cell phone holder/purse. This idea popped in my head after looking at regular cell phone cozies and I wanted to spruce the concept up a bit. I fought between applying a bow or going for the boho vibe and since I am such a huge fan of fringe, I immediately wanted to go with that theme! 

This project would be great to use especially for events, like music festivals SXSW and Austin City Limits. I entirely want to make more in different colors and mess around with the fringe  though its' pretty exciting to think of new ideas from such a little seed! Please enjoy! 

 The Ingredients I Used:
>> 1 yarn selection of your choice (I used Red Heart Soft Yarn in )
>> G/6-4.25 MM and H/8-5.00MM
>> yarn sewing needle
>> scissors

>>cell phone

Crochet technique with abbreviations:

>>Chain=[CH]

>>Single Crochet [SC]

>>Slip Stitch= [SS]

>>Stitches and Stitch= [STS] & [ST]

First, you will CH 10 with the H/8 Hook

Row 1: SC the entire Row, Turn

SC to Row 13

So there will be 14 Rows of SC  

 It will look like this.

 Next, you will use the G/6 Hook and SC around the finished piece.

It will look like this.

Now, you will start over so you have two pieces. 

The front and back of the cozy.

After completing both pieces.

You will lay each piece flat and sew them together.

You will sew all the sides except you will leave an opening to insert the cell phone. 

Now for the fun fringe part, cut about an inch of the yarn. You will need about 10 strands of yarn. Insert the hook through the end of the cozy, through the ST. Grab the strand of yarn and pull through, halfway in order to tie a knot two times onto the bottom of the cozy. Also, I cut the fringe, made them a bit uneven!

For the strap, you will CH 182 turn.

For the 2nd Row, you will SC the entire 182 STS.

Cut and sewn in the edges.

You will sew the straps to the inside of the cozy. Make sure you sew the strap in tightly and sturdy. Cut and sewn in the edges.

HandMade: The Peace, Love & Fringe Cardigan

Hello there! Happy Thursday! 
  Here is my complete project from last week's, What's On My Hook?  A crochet fringe cardigan! This cardigan came out exactly how I had planned and designed which makes me a happy woman. :) I made the front of the cardigan shorter than the back to give it that high low feel that I've been seeing on numerous dresses. I wanted to apply it to this cardigan alongside the fringe. The fringe was cut in completely different sizes, some are short, some are longer, which goes along with the feel of the cardigan being free and letting the fringe fall where it falls. Didn't want any of it to feel perfect so to speak. Also, I decided to add fringe to the 3 quarter length sleeves for an element of surprise and a bit of fun.
 
The crochet technique I used, was the single crochet and an open work stitch that made it a bit freeing and perfect for layering over tops and dresses.

The Yarn I used: Bernat Baby Sport Yarn (Baby Taupe)
The Hook I used: H/8-5.00 MM
