What's On My Hook.

Lately, I have been working on a summer obsession I have had going on for awhile, which are baby doll dresses. So I am currently working on a piece inspired by my love of these dresses. The idea is quite experimental and it's all up in that skull of mine and I truly hope it comes out somewhere near to what is drawn up. I suppose we will see, if not, it'll definitely be an experimental something which can be a bit of fun as well.

What are you currently working on?

Oh and this little lady bird has decided to lay two eggs in my faux tree planter! Too sweet.

DIY: The Easy, Simple & Clean Crochet Camera Strap.

Hello and Happy Tutorial Tuesday to ya! This week, I was inspired by my film camera crochet strap that I made a handful of years ago. Realizing it was a bit beat up and could use a Spring pastel update to it, I thought to create up one of my ideas of crocheting a camera strap. I entirely plan on creating more, different versions of course!
My old crochet camera strap!
The Ingredients: Left to Right.>> Crochet hooks: F/5-3.75MM & H/8.-5.00MM + Yarn sewing needle
>> Yarn of your choice (Sugar and Cream)
>> Scissors
>> 2 Key Rings and 2 Lanyard Hooks

Crochet Abbreviations:
SC= single crochet
SS= slip stitch
CH= chain
TO= turn over
STS = stitches
With the F/5-3.75MM hook.
CH 4
Row 1: SC into all of the 4 STS, TO
Continue to Row 115
Cut and SS.
For the Edging, use the H/8.-5.00MM hook.
SC around the strap.
Cut and SS, sewing in the remains.
With the end of the straps, wrap the end of the straps around the key ring and with the sewing needle, sew the strap very tightly. (I sewed it a handful of times, just for safety purposes!)
With the lanyard clasp, connect it to the key ring and then connect it to your camera.

Hope you have fun creating your own!

What I Wore: Lazy Sunday.

What I Wore: dress-permit(ross)//hat-cooperative//bag-betsey johnson//knee highs-target//flats-ross//rings-glitter accessories, target, claire's accessories.

I am quite elated the weather has brightened up and sunny days are swiftly approaching. This past Sunday, I threw on my new favorite look for the summer which is baby doll dresses. I mean, c'mon ya'll these dresses are not only super cute, but comfy which is number one in my book. It's all I want to wear nowadays and if it has pockets, it's over, it's coming home with me.
Have a wonderful Monday, let's hope for a great week!

HandMade: The Crochet High Low Skirt.

Happy almost end of the week to ya! Here is my latest crochet design from last weeks', "What's on my hook." As I stated before, this skirt was entirely inspired by music festivals and seeing that Coachella officially ended this past weekend. Who says, you can't keep the spirit of the fashion experience throughout your everyday life?

From that feeling, spawned this high low ruffle esque crochet skirt, with an elastic band. Super breezy and beyond comfortable, I can't wait to wear it more during the summer days. I believe with the next design I might make it a bit more longer in the back, though I do have a bad tendency of stepping over everything that is maxi in my wardrobe. I'm short, it's expected.

Project Details:
The yarn I used was Caron Simply Soft Yarn, featuring Black.
The hook I used was a H/8-5.00MM.
The crochet pattern is entirely experimental.

In the near future, this pattern will be available. I will keep the blog updated regarding its' arrival for those who are interested!
many thanks, ashlee elle.

What's On My Hook.

Lately, I have been working on another graphic piece that is heavily based on one of my current favorite television shows. I've been wanting to create this one for awhile and now is the time that my idea is coming to life. Three colors are being utilized in this creation and I am not entirely sure if it will be more than a top yet, I am just leaving it up in the air.. A couple of ideas are roaming though I am gonna just wait and see where my crochet hook takes me, hopefully it'll be how I imagined or better!
Now I'm off to continue this project!
What are you currently working on?

DIY: The Crochet Yarn Shopping Bag.

Hello there & Happy Tuesday to ya! I have been wanting to make another yarn bag fit for the spring times for awhile and this is my latest creation! This bag is perfect for a trip to the yarn store (aka my second home) to carry your new goodies in, instead of utilizing a store offered bag time after time!
The Ingredients:
>> scissors
>> fabric yarn (Lion Brand's Fettuccine fabric yarn)
>> crochet hook (19.00 MM)

Crochet techniques with abbreviations
SC= single crochet
DC= double crochet
SS= slip stitch
CH= chain

TO= turn over
First, you will CH 24. Connect the chain, CH 1 and TO.
For the 2nd Row, SC the entire Row.
The 3rd-7th Row, DC the entire Row.
For the Handle:
For the 8th Row, SC into 11 STS.
Once you hit the 12th ST, CH 17.
Connect the ST into the other side of the bag.
Once connected, SC the (Handle) CH to the other side of the bag.
You will SC the remaining STS leftover around the bag.

For the bottom of the bag:
You will want to weave through the STS with an extra strand of yarn, either using a smaller hook, yarn sewing needle or the hook you are utilizing for the project.
Cut and weave in the ends of your bag and you are done!
Now I am off to go pick up some new yarn in my new handmade crochet bag!
