On My Hook.

Currently, I have been working on this scarlet number to create a buttoned crochet dress. Truthfully, I purchased a ton of buttons because they were on clearance for a couple of dimes and a nickle. So I thought I'd pick them all up 'cause who knows when you're gonna need one. Which brings me to this dress, I needed a little bit of detail to jazz it up even though the design is quite an experimental one that I created on a whim.
Nevertheless, it's entirely one of those dresses that were made for the upcoming winter season, perfect for tights and your favorite boots!
What are you currently working on?
Now I'm off to finish up some new projects!

Crochet Life: A New Hope.

Lately, I have been incredibly moved with tons of inspiration to design as well as create. Of course, I'm writing on behalf of the craft that is crocheting, it is a serious passion of mine, that I would entirely love to be able to create full time. That would be a dream.

I've been inspired to create handfuls of things, (you will see soon!) they are all sprouting from my mind like beautiful bright flowers. I simply want to pick them all up and share them all with anyone, everyone who would love to see. A bit cheesy, but truly it's how I feel! There are a number of ideas that will come fruition, hopefully will all come out and be exhibited on this blog!

DIY: The Crochet Yarn Shopping Bag.

Hello there & Happy Tuesday to ya! I have been wanting to make another yarn bag fit for the spring times for awhile and this is my latest creation! This bag is perfect for a trip to the yarn store (aka my second home) to carry your new goodies in, instead of utilizing a store offered bag time after time!
The Ingredients:
>> scissors
>> fabric yarn (Lion Brand's Fettuccine fabric yarn)
>> crochet hook (19.00 MM)

Crochet techniques with abbreviations
SC= single crochet
DC= double crochet
SS= slip stitch
CH= chain

TO= turn over
First, you will CH 24. Connect the chain, CH 1 and TO.
For the 2nd Row, SC the entire Row.
The 3rd-7th Row, DC the entire Row.
For the Handle:
For the 8th Row, SC into 11 STS.
Once you hit the 12th ST, CH 17.
Connect the ST into the other side of the bag.
Once connected, SC the (Handle) CH to the other side of the bag.
You will SC the remaining STS leftover around the bag.

For the bottom of the bag:
You will want to weave through the STS with an extra strand of yarn, either using a smaller hook, yarn sewing needle or the hook you are utilizing for the project.
Cut and weave in the ends of your bag and you are done!
Now I am off to go pick up some new yarn in my new handmade crochet bag!

What's On My Hook?

What's been hanging on my crochet hook lately has been a lovely rich and deep red yarn from Caron, the big bundle. It's a project that has been swirling in my head for quite awhile now and I am just now getting to it! I am creating another cape kind of item, but with a fantasy twist to it. Kind of like a red riding hood inspired, with a touch of whimsy. I truly hope it comes out the way it lives in my mind!
This project is once again, all experimental, which I love creating very dearly and it is a personal project like the many other ones I have created besides the DIY's. So hopefully, it'll be complete whenever it is ready, no rushing it! What projects are you working on? I hope your projects are coming along quite well for you! :)

What's On My Hook?

What's been on my hook lately, has been a shocking pink number, that I could only find under the Red Heart line. I have only just begun the experimental project and I am have quite a ways to go before it is near completion. Actually, I was almost close to finishing the project, until it ran a little bit bigger than I had wanted. So I decided to start it all over again! Hey it happens, so you fall to get right back up! Lesson learned. :)
This project was inspired by a dress I have and will be paired with it, once it is done. The pattern I am using, is quite like the others, experimental and completely made up as I go which is my preferred method because it makes it a bit more interesting! I hope your projects are coming along swimmingly! My What's on my Hook? project from last week will be up tomorrow, can't wait to share! :) Oh and my cat skirt is from when I made my own skirt>> found here!

What's On My Hook?

So what's on my hook? Currently, I am working on an item that I have been wanting to create for quite some time. This project involves sewing an exposed zipper onto it, so far it is a daunting task to create, but I'm going for a challenge this year. The best thing about this particular project is that I can already picture it complete and what I would style it with! It's very exciting when a project is alive in my mind even before it's complete!

Hopefully, this project will be complete quite soon (well in due time) so that I can share it, even though I've started, stopped and restarted again. Oh it's all about the journey and the process on this project, but so far it is worth every single unraveling row. I hope yours is coming along quite well!

What's On My Hook?

So what's on my hook this week? Well, I am currently working on a DIY tutorial which I am hoping to share quite soon. It's an easy tutorial that I thought would be fun to not only make, but to wear! Entirely looking forward to creating more in different colors as well as lengths. I'm keeping it quite vague until I reveal exactly what I have made! :)
I hope the project you are working on is coming along quite marvelously, but now I must return to complete mine! Happy middle of the week to you!

What's On My Hook!

So what's on my hook? Well, actually there are a few different things that are on several hooks around my place, but I will just concentrate on my main project for this week. I've been attempting to create my Sheepish Bloom Drop, (which starts tomorrow) I have been going back and forth on what I want to make and how I want to do something a bit different. I believe I have found it, but I'll keep that quiet until it's all ready, hopefully, by Sunday! The theme I had in mind was..surprise surprise Fall! The colors that lightly represent Fall and create some sort of a flower collection to depict the upcoming season!
 Truly, I am hoping the idea I have planted in my mind (hehe) comes to fruition and I have a complete project that I can present to the lucky individual! Well, now I am off to get this project to the finish line!
